Stained Glass Narrowboat

size approx 14cm x 10cm

materials – glass, copper foil, tin lead solder, Ribbon, Chain and patina

Each glass piece is made by the Tiffany copper foil method. The glass is cut by hand, ground, edged with copper foil and soldered together. Patina is added to change the colour of the silver solder.

The handmade items due to the nature of the glass and the soldering process, may appear slightly different to the one pictured.

There is lead content in the solder so please wash your hands after handling the piece, especially before handling food.

 AFTER CARE
Although made from glass, these sun-catchers are relatively sturdy .. but don’t drop or bend them!

Over time the solder finish can lose its lustre,  give this glass ornament a gentle wash using water and washing-up liquid, although I don’t recommend totally immersing them in water.
